New edition print by Robert Risko, available exclusively at Cooper Hewitt. This artwork was originally commissioned by Willi Smith in 1985. Willi first saw Risko’s work in Andy Warhol’s Interview (magazine). Risko's drawings jumped out to Willi, because other than the cover art by Richard Bernstein, the magazine primarily featured photographic portraits and Risko was drawing portraits by hand.
“Because I knew and adored Willi, I feel I captured his beautiful soul.” —Robert Risko
